Hello Yolanda, some 300 pesos a conventional car. I pass the rates from Punta Sam so you can check it according to your car: http://www.maritimaislamujeres.com/tarifas-cruce-isla-mujeres
Regards,
Hello Sandra, good day! just today I discovered your page and is tremendous by the good vibes that you put and the data you pass, from now many thanks, the November 24 we go to the beach for the third time and would like to know of a beach that is not so well known to visit, I doubt there is any hahahaha but if you have any information I'll thank you! regards!
Hello Gustavo, thank you very much for your encouraging comment 🙂
Look, for a zone of Riviera Maya, as you say, you will not discover any desert corner, but there are little beaches such as Xpu Ha, Paamul, Xcacel-Xcacelito that are very cool and if you do not go on a weekend you will be deluxe. Others like Tankah, Punta Venado, Soliman and Maroma, with beach clubs, are also a chulada. In Isla Mujeres the best one is Playa Norte, here there are no corners to discover ... https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/mejores-playas-riviera-maya/ I hope you serve the info, anything you write me.
Greetings and keep enjoying the paradise!
Hello, excuse me, I'm going to stay at the riu dunamar, which is on the beach, women, from there, how can I go to Isla Mujeres, what I see is already very close
Hello Fernando,
From your hotel the nearest ferry is Punta Sam, but I think now only cars pass, not people. So you must take a taxi (buses pass very few where your hotel is) to the ferry from Puerto Juarez. Surely in your hotel they indicate you well. Another way to go is on an excursion with the boatmen from Puerto Juarez and Punta Sam, if you want I'll give you a contact from a cooperative to see prices. You will tell me.
Warm regards,
Hello Sandra, could you also provide information about the cooperative puerto juarez, Mil Gracias
Hello Yudith, I am writing an email and I pass the contact that I have.
Regards,
Hi!
I am going to stay in Riviera Maya. From what I have been reading the best from there would be Puerto Juárez to go to Isla Mujeres. Can I leave the car near the port in a parking lot? Is it recommended to do it? or better I cross with the vehicle?
Regards,
Hello Kattia, sorry for the delay in answering. You can perfectly leave the car in a parking lot in Puerto Juárez, there are several and they are safe. Only cross by car if you are going to stay several days, otherwise it is not worth it.
Greetings and good holidays
Hello Fernando, you were able to move easily from the hotel to the island. I hope you can pass me the information. Thank you
Sandra, send you an email, I hope you get me out of doubt. THANKS.
Hi Maria, I already answered your email. Go all very well 🙂
Any cheap tour you recommend for the underwater art museum? How much does it cost? Do you know if it is convenient to buy the tour in Cancun or Isla Mujeres?
Hi Cynthia, the MUSA tours have more or less the same prices from Cancun as in Isla Mujeres, because they include transportation to the island. It's about 45 usd person, or about 35 usd from Isla Mujeres. I'll give you two companies that do it, the one in Cancun: https://aquaworld.com.mx/tours/snorkel-en-el-museo-subacuatico-de-arte-en-cancun-musa/ One in Isla Mujeres: http://www.islamujerestours.com.mx/eng/isla-mujeres-snorkeling.html
The cooperatives that work in the areas near the ferry can also give you their prices, which I do not know.
Good snorkeled! 🙂
hello Gustavo: to swim with dolphins which do you recommend and which one is more economical? or the best thing to go to a park where you can also make underground rivers and see the fish, what do you recommend? I'm going to Cancun with my 9 girl, which is the best trip, the one you can not miss? graaacias. mirtha
Hello Mirtha, I honestly do not know the price differences between some dolphinariums and others, but there should not be many. If for example you go to a park like Xcaret or XelHá, there they swim with dolphins, swim through underground rivers and the kind of activities you are looking for. They are parks that they like very much to go with children. In Isla Mujeres they make a tour of the island of snorkeling through different points of the island. If your girl likes to swim, I'm sure you enjoy the trip to Isla Mujeres. It will be very easy to choose because in Cancun they offer all kinds of excursions, and you will know what to do next.
Enjoy the holidays a lot!
Greetings.
Hi. Next week we will go from Guadalajara to Cancun and visit Isla Mujeres, take two older adults, there is a beach club to recommend us to be there and they can sit and enjoy? They also serve drinks and food. thank you.
Hi Lili, there are several beach clubs. The most typical ones come to my mind, the Garrafón (this is from the Xcaret Group and it is expensive) and one that is next to the Garrafón, cheaper and with food and beach services. The two are on their way to Punta Sur, all taxi drivers know them.
Another option is to go to a beach with restaurants on the beach: Playa Norte is full of this type of restaurants (it is the closest beach to the ferry), and other beaches such as Tiburón or Lancheros, both with restaurant services and lounge chairs .
I hope you serve, you have a great time! 🙂
Hello Sandra. I go with my family to Cancun and I'm going to stay at the Moon Palace Hotel and I would like to know how I can go to Isla Mujeres from that hotel, what bus or transport can I take, how much do I charge and how long does it take to travel the island?
Hello Roberto, from the Moon Palace you must go out to the highway and wait for the collective direction Cancun (20 pesos per person approximately). Go to the last bus stop in Cancun: from here you can take a taxi, which will charge you around 40 mxn to the Puerto Juarez ferry stop. Before taking the ferry there are cooperatives that sell you their excursion, which are 3 or 4 hours touring the points of the island. You may find it interesting, you cross by boat and there are about 400 pesos per person on the tour (I do not know if it went up for gas, I will ask). If you like to go for free, on the island you rent a golf car for about 550 pesos to go through it. Between 2 and 4 hours, depending on the stops, the meals and how entertaining you are.
Have an excellent vacation!
Hello, what route should I take to reach women islands to the airport?
Thanks
Hello Gabriel, once you arrive by ferry from Isla Mujeres to Puerto Juarez, take the bus that leaves you at the ADO (bus terminal). From there the buses leave for the airport. https://www.ado.com.mx/#/. If you go with heavy luggage they will make you take a taxi, which pass in front of the ferry.
Good trip,
Hello Sandra, today I discovered your page and I appreciate everything you help half the world, in June we go to Moon Palace from Chile, my son has 9 years and he loves to swim, I would like you to recommend some tour to an area of crystal clear waters where he can swim and snorkel safely and you can see underwater life, colorful, thank you already.
It's good that Pablo serves you. I link you an entry where you find the information you are looking for. I think the ideal would be a place like Isla Mujeres where they do tours and there are beaches with fish, also Cozumel or Akumal, where you can swim with turtles. In the link you will find the extended information: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/riviera-maya/viajar-con-ni%C3%B1os-en-riviera-maya/
That you have an excellent vacation, any doubt I try to support you.
Greetings to Chile.
Hello Sandra! We want to go with my husband to ISLA MUJERES on our own. We are going to stay at HOTEL FLAMINGO, you can inform us how to go from there.
We wait for your reply.
Thank you very much.
Very good Maria,
From the Flamingos you have the Ultramar ferries nearby Zona Hotelera, something more expensive, but maybe it's worth it to not go around so much. Leaving the road from the Flamingos take a bus to Playa Tortugas, pass the R-1 and the R-2, all are valid. If you ask the driver for the Ultramar ferry, it indicates the stop. Back the same, be attentive and do not take the ferry to Puerto Juarez, but the one of Zona Hotelera.
I hope you have a great time here 😉
Warm regards,
Thank you very much Sandra. Could you tell me where to see schedules?
Thank you. Regards,
Of course, Maria. You yourself click on the name of the terminal from where you will leave and there you get the schedules and prices. In case you can not find it I'll leave you the link of the Overseas ones: https://www.ultramarferry.com/es/rutas-y-horarios
Regards,
very practical
I appreciate the comment Guadalupe.
Regards,
Hello Sandra,
Do you know of cheap accommodations on Isla Mujeres? I'm going to go in May and I've seen that all the hostelworld sites are already full! Including the pocna that was the one that seemed cheaper and had a very good look.
Another question about the whale shark tour, you know if you can get it for less than 100 euros and what companies?
Thank you very much, and congratulations on the web, it is great and with a lot of practical data!
Miguel, excuse the delay.
I owe you that answer because in addition to those of the hostelworld, I can not recommend you directly.
Regarding the whale shark, you can ask the fishermen's cooperatives of Puerto Juarez, before crossing to Isla Mujeres, they are around the ferries selling excursions, including the shark. For less than 100 euros you find insurance. In Isla Mujeres I am sure that also with the same fishermen's cooperatives. The whale shark season usually starts in June.
Have a great trip, any doubt I try to help you.
Warm regards,
Thank you very much for responding so quickly, in the end we will go in June so that we can match the whale shark.
Regards!
Hello, I tell you that in May I'm going to Cancun, I'll be staying at the hotel riu caribe. As we can get to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres, we must take a bus that moves us?, Please guide me.
regards
Hello, because from the Riu Cancun you have the piers of zona hotelera very close, you can even walk calmly to one of them. Ask directly at your hotel because you have it very easy from the Riu.
Have fun ?
Hello .. Beautiful travel with my parents and my son 6años from gdl .. I would like to take them to north beach you know if I can stay part of the day in a beach restaurant and make consumption .. Or you recommend me somewhere special .. My plan is to rent a golf cart to get to know the island better ... But if I want to have an idea of where I can stay most of the day on the north beach .. Thank you very much .. X your data .. Blessings
Hello Mar, once you return to the island, on the north beach you will see that there are several restaurants where you can consume food and rent lounge chairs. All very easy in Isla Mujeres, you'll see?
Enjoy the day on the island.
Hello Sandra,
We will go to Cancun in April and we want to go to Isla Mujeres, we have the doubt of going by car and crossing in the car or leaving it parked in Puerto Juarez and crossing by ferry alone, besides we do not have clarity of the prices per person to cross without a car.
and other…. You know the value of the parking lots both in Puerto Juarez and on the Island ...
We loved your blog ... Greetings from Chile
Hello Ursula, I would personally cross without a car, to lighten the day. The car would be parked in Puerto Juarez, where you will be offered parking from 50 pesos all day. The prices per passenger change according to ferry company, are recorded in the post prices of the different companies. As a reference it takes 140 mxn round trip (round trip).
I hope you have a great trip, to enjoy!
Thanks Sandra!!!!
Do you know if the children also pay the 140 mxn ?? they are small from 4 and 5 years ...
and it is safe to leave the car in the parking lots (it is self-rented) ...
Children pay according to stature, higher than 1,20 pay as adults, but half. As far as I know, it is safe, there are several neighbors who offer the patios of their land as parking, many live on this, they are interested in giving good service.
Greetings Ursula, a pleasure.
Hello
Please help me. I have a question, I am in Cancun and I would like to go to Isla Mujeres. The price of Ultramarferry is more expensive. what says it 300 mxn round, on your page. or not? What is the cheapest and the most frequent?
thank you very much
Good day, they changed the prices a month ago, yes.
The overseas ferry costs, if you are not a resident, 300 pesos round trip. At 400 meters from Ultramar you have the cheapest ferry from Terminal Marítima, and the ferry from Punta Sam is less frequent and it takes 40 minutes to cross, but it costs 40 pesos.
Thanks for the price change notice, I had to correct it 😉
hello sandra, please appreciate your help
I will stay at Playa del Carmen as I do to get to Puerto Juarez?
Hi Macarena, since you take bus or bus ADO from Playa del Carmen you get off at the last stop in Cancun. Here, ask for the 1 route bus, go through Tulum Avenue, which takes you to Puerto Juarez. Make sure when you get on the R-1 bus driver that you get to the ferry, some do not. Another option from Cancun is to take a taxi to Puerto Juarez, it costs 40 pesos.
I hope you serve, greetings!
Hello Sandra, I loved your blog!
Next week I will be with my girlfriend in Cancun and I would like to visit Isla Mujeres, I will stay at the Paradisus and I will rent a car, so I was wondering what would be more convenient, to go on the ferry with the car, or just the two of us? .
Ah! and something else, as we landed after noon in Cancun, will it be worth it to get to Playa Norte in the afternoon or does it take more time coming in early?
Thank you in advance for your help!
A hug
Hi Mike, thank you very much.
Crossing without a car, that's what I think is better. It is very small Isla Mujeres, in Easter it gets up to the flag. Keep in mind that there are ferries back to the 1 in the morning, the sunsets are magnificent in Playa Norte. Decide according to how tired you are and if you want to travel the whole island or just visit North Beach. If only Playa Norte, it gives you an afternoon.
Greetings, very happy stay!
HELLO THANKS FOR ALL THE INFORMATION PROVIDED, I WRITE YOU FROM PERU AND I WILL TRAVEL IN MAY. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET OUT FROM THE HOTEL CALYPSO TO PLAYA DELFINES? THANK YOU
Hello Karina, from the Calypso you have it very easy. In front of your hotel, buses of the 1 route and the 2 route take you to Playa Delfines. The driver can indicate the stop to get off, you are about 10 kilometers from Playa Delfines. Very simple, you'll see.
Happy Holidays!
Thank you very much for your interest in responding, I hope you do not mind again absolving me of one more doubt, change hotels.
Now it is Adhara Hacienda please return to indicate how I do to get to dolphins beach, how long it takes and you can go at night, until what time do you recommend me. Infinite thanks
Hello Karina, from the Adhara you must go to Tulum Avenue, it is close to your hotel, and there the busses of the 1 route take you. zona hotelera, where Dolphins beach is. Ask at the hotel reception desk if you have any doubts, they will help you in a friendly way. It's simple, back you can still return with the R-1.
Warm regards,
Hello I travel the first week of May, I want to stay at Playa del Carmen but I do not know how to accommodate my itinerary.
I travel with my partner and my one year old baby, I want to go to Xcaret, Isla Mujeres and Cozumel, which hotels and how do you recommend accommodating my trip or what to do first? the 4 arrived in May and I'm leaving the 11.
Hello Brenda, I think it's a good idea to be in Playa del Carmen: from there you have very close Xcaret and you can cross to Cozumel, the ferry leaves from Playa. For the end I would leave Isla Mujeres, from there you can return. In all these destinations there are many hotels to choose from, according to your budget and criteria.
Greetings, you have an excellent vacation!
Hello! I travel in 2 semnas more and I will stay in the riviera catalonia. I want to go to Isla Mujeres with my partner but I do not have more information about the cost of the transfer, the frequency and how long it takes
Could you please help me 🙂
Hello Lorena, I leave a link that will help you with some of your doubts https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/
The combis that pass by the highway leave from Tulum, Playa or Cancún when they are filled, so the frequency is from 10 minutes onwards. It calculates in arriving at the ferry from the Catalonia in combis between two hours and two and a half hours. Sometimes they do not stop on the highway because they are full, but always one arrives.
Greetings, I hope you serve.
Thank you very much Sandra! It has been very useful
Great Lorena, thanks for commenting 🙂
Hello Sandra, which bus route takes me from the cruise to punta sam?
regards
Hello Leticia, from Crucero some combis leave on the avenue Portillo, it asks for the stop of combis for Puerto Juárez, very simple already you will see it. They cost 8 pesos. Regards,
Hello Sandra, I would like to know how to get from Cozumel to Isla Mujeres? Is there a direct ferry to Isla Mujeres? Airplane? We will be 7 days in Cozumel and we would like to go to other islands and they all talk a lot about Isla Mujeres
Hello Elvira, there is no direct ferry, and I fly only via Cancun. But I'm sure that in the same Cozumel give you other options that I do not know, in tourism everything is invented if you do not have it. Another beautiful island is Holbox, in case you dare to go too. I know that some agency in Playa del Carmen offered the tour of the islands, with Cozumel, Holbox and Isla Mujeres. Surely something can fix you.
Greetings and enjoy the Caribbean! 🙂
Hello Sandra
Your data is very interesting, I tell you I am Chilean and I will go to know your beautiful land at the beginning of July. I would like to know if in Isla Mujeres there is a restaurant and how are the prices.
Thank you.
Hi Susana, in Isla Mujeres you can find all kinds of restaurants, from street food, family restaurants on the beach, Asian food, pizzerias, Burguer King franchises ... From all Susana, from 60 pesos onwards. Most can see the menu and prices before sitting at the table, so it's easier to choose.
Enjoy this little paradise ☺️
Hello Sandra,
I read that there is parking in Puerto Juarez to leave the car, is it necessary to book in advance or the same day in the afternoon is it possible to find a place? If you have to reserve with time, do you know any page or contact phone? and to go to Cozumel, we want to do the same, leave the car in a parking lot, which is the best area to look for parking? and if it is the same as in Puerto Juarez, if you can book the same day in advance, prices, security.
Thank you very much in advance.
Hello Sandra, you will not have problems finding parking in Puerto Juarez, there are several that offer the service, you can also park on the street, but more secure in a parking lot. To go to Cozumel there is also parking near the ferry terminal, but on the street or in some private beach parking. Place you find for the car without problems, the parking lots are safe. In Puerto Juarez they are like 100 pesos the day, in Playa I do not know exactly.
A pleasure to help you 🙂
HELLO IRE IN AUGUST AND I WANT TO GO TO CHICHEN ITZA, TULUM AND ISLA MUJERES, IN LAST PASSES BUY TOURS BUT YOU GIVE VERY LITTLE TIME, RECOMMENDS THE COOPERATIVES OF FISHERMEN AND WHAT ARE YOUR COSTS ALSO IF YOU COULD RECOMMEND ME HOW TO GO TO TULUM AND CHICHEN ITZA MY ACCOUNT, THANK YOU I EXPECT YOUR ANSWER.
Hi Jonathan,
Before boarding the ferry you will see several cooperative workers in the area who give you their information. I think they are about 400 pesos their tour to Isla Mujeres, and I do not know if they give you more time in places than in a conventional tour. That they take you represents that you never control your time, that is clear. To go to Chichén Itzá is very easy in ADO, and to Tulum the ADO arrives or you can go in groups. Where are you staying? I leave you a couple of entries that give you useful information of what you are looking for: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/bus-ado-desde-riviera-maya-zonas-arqueologias/ https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/
I hope it serves you, that you continue to enjoy paradise.
Warm regards,
Hello Sandra, I'm going to go by car to punta sam and I still have not decided whether to cross the car or leave it parked, (we will be 2 days and a few hours in Isla Mujeres). Taking into account that the parking leaves $ 100 per day and cross the car some $ 500 round trip, I think it is convenient to cross it since I have free parking at the hotel and also if I have to rent a golf cart to go around to the island and I get more expensive than if I take the car .. I'm right? Greetings and thanks for the article!
Totally correct Milton, it suits you for the price to cross your car.
I'm glad you were served by the info 🙂
Very good way!
thank you very much for your time, I ask you one more question, I have rented the car for mex-rent a car, to 46 dollars for 13 days?, what gives less than 13 dollars x day. but by the comments I was reading are scammers who then force you to take insurance 29 dollars x day .. I LDW insurance I have it free for the card, and liability insurance is included in the rental price. Do you have an idea if I can still be forced to take that insurance? maybe you have some reference of the company .. thank you very much again
Hello Milton, happy to try to help you.
I do not know how to respond with the insurance, but it is true that several car companies are not at all clear in their payments. The same thing happened to me with Expedia, who put attractive prices on their website and at the time of paying the car they double. My short experience, I do not usually rent a car in Mexico, it is with the American Car Rental company, I rent through its website and without surprises (although also in forums it has bad reports). MexRentaCar is low cost, with a Ryanair type strategy. If I find out something else these days I'll let you know.
Greetings and when you like,
Hello, I would like to know how to get to Playa Mujeres from the westin lagoon. What remove spend all day and when removing a golf cart time.
Hello Hazel, near the Westin is the ferry from zona hotelera to Isla Mujeres. You can walk or on the trucks that go through the zona hotelera, they cost 12 pesos and they leave you on the ferry. I did not understand the question of the cart, I'm sorry.
Regards,
I forgot to ask role the best way to get to tulum and chichen itza on our own leaving from westin lagoon
Hello Hazel, I link you an entry where I explain how to go in ADO to the archaeological zones, and another one in case you go in your own car. The information is useful for you: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/bus-ado-desde-riviera-maya-zonas-arqueologias/ https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/chichen-itza-en-coche-de-alquiler/
If you have any doubt, you contact me, we try to solve.
Where you can exchange dollars for pesos safely and approximately how much to pay for transportation and transfer to Isla Mujeres. Thank you
In the area of the ferry that crosses Isla Mujeres, there are exchange houses and ATM's. In the ferry payment box you can pay in US dollars or in Mexican pesos, the prices are in the entrance. Approximately 300 pesos per person round trip. Very simple and very comfortable for tourism, you'll see.
Good vacations!
Yes thanks for your answers. The thing about the golf cart is how easy it is to rent it.
Hello Hazel, the golf cart there are many companies that rent it, leaving the ferry you see them easily or they offer themselves. Noo there is too much trouble to get, only in the highest peaks of the year like Easter or Christmas, at 11 in the morning there is not even one to rent. They rent them for hours or all day. All day they come out for about 550 pesos.
Enjoy a lot!
Hello Sandra, I travel to Isla Mujeres in mid-July for 3 weeks with a friend, we would also like to travel to other places such as Chichen Itza, Tullun and Playa del Carmen. I would like to know what is better for me, rent a car online or in Cancun directly? I need a couple of days just to go through those places. And I would like to know how is parking there? I will stay at Hotel Maya on Isla Mujeres all the time. What is more economical in this case? It's the first time I'm going to Mexico. Thank you very much for your good advice
Hello Veronica, I link you a couple of articles that can help you with the theme of renting a car (I tell you what I would do to rent it) and driving around the peninsula, for sure you get useful information: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/alquilar-coche-en-riviera-maya/ https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/consejos-conducir-peninsula-yucatan/
For the parking do not worry, in the tourist places there is where to park, and in the cities like Playa del Carmen there is parking in the street or private. It's not a complicated issue here parking.
Any other doubt we continue with them.
To enjoy the holidays!
Hello good afternoon .. I have a question xq on a page recommend taking a bus directly to Tulum but not the archaeological zone?
Hello Brenda, the ADO buses that stop in the archaeological zone of Tulum are much more expensive than usual for leaving you at the entrance, however, the buses or vans do not charge you more for leaving you in front of the Tulum entrance. That is the reason.
I hope you serve, greetings.
Hello Sandra, super grateful to have found your blog, very complete, Thank you! Well I summarize, we are traveling from NYC to Cancun where we will stay 2 weeks, we will go direct to Cozumel to meet some friends x 2 / 3 days then go straight to stay in Playa del Carmen x the rest of the 1er week, just the 2da we stopped in Cancun (x theme work and pleasure) all week.
My question is TOPIC »VALIJAS» Eg, if we want to go on a plane from Cancun to Cozumel, xq we have 2 Carry-on each one plus a large 1 and a medium one, we do not know if they will allow us xq as they are small planes ... .sino We will have to ferry. What companies do you recommend? And how long does it take from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel by ferry?
Hello Natalia, it's good that you find it useful.
Reference volume Maya Air, which flies Cancun-Cozumel. They allow 5 kg of hand and a documented baggage of 20 kg. You pay 5,8 usd per kilo of excess baggage. If you take a ferry option to Cozumel, the company is Ultramar, it costs 410 pesos round trip, the journey is 45 minutes.
I hope it serves you to plan. Enjoy a lot 🙂
Thank you and tomorrow we left for Mex :))
I see that the option Ferry would be the most convenient to not have problems of excess baggage; )
Do you know the distance from the Cancun airport to the Maya Air flight? I read something from 2 blocks, is that so?
The airport in Cancun has three terminals, MayaAir is located in the terminal 1 if I'm not mistaken. If you are arriving from NYC you will surely enter the 3. There are internal buses that connect the terminals at the exit.
Have an excellent time here, anything you write me Natalia.
Sandra, good afternoon, I'm going to stay at oasis palm and I'd like to go to the beach. Women can you tell me how to do and the cost per person
Hello Tatiana, because from the very simple palm Oasis, you can walk without problem to the ferry overseas in less than 10 minutes. They give you the indication at the hotel reception, they sure help you.
Happy Holidays!
Hello Sandra, I wanted to ask you if you only accept Mexican pesos or pay in dollars to pay for the ferry tickets (Pto Juarez)?
Hello Fabiola, good question, that information I need to mention: yes you can, also with a card if you want.
Enjoy, regards 🙂
Hello, good afternoon! Could you please inform me how I can get to Puerto Juares from Playa del Carmen? Yes I take the ADO from there then I continue until I reach the port to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres ?? And what is the price of ADO from Playa del Carmen. I would also like to know if the ADO or the Vans is more economical to do all kinds of trips on your own ... What is recommended? I would appreciate your time answering since thank you very much.
Hello Natalia,
Get off at the last stop of the ADO in Cancun. From here you can take a taxi for 40 pesos to Puerto Juarez, or two buses, each 8 pesos per person (one that takes you to Cruzero, and another to the overseas terminal.) The price of the ADO simple trip, 70 pesos Playa- Cancún
In ADO you can go to archaeological sites on excursion, in vans it is cheaper, but they do not reach all destinations: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/bus-ado-desde-riviera-maya-zonas-arqueologias/
I hope I have resolved your doubts.
Good trip Natalia,
Sandra Thank you very much for taking your time! Your blog is great ... I was reading everything about how to organize my next trip. I am traveling to Cancun in August, I have 10 full days to be there. 3 years ago I went in a group with friends but we rented a car, we stopped in Puerto Aventuras and from there we moved to Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres ...
My question now is, where do you recommend me to start? Chichen Itza I did not know neither Holbox either and I would like to make them. I do not want to stop doing some cenote. I also want to sleep on Isla Mujeres at least one night because I went alone to spend a day and I fell in love. Cancun would only do the last 2 days in an all inclusive before returning to Buenos Aires. Thanks again!
Hello anita,
Recurrent in the area, eh? 🙂 Well, as you say, after Isla Mujeres (at the beginning or at the end to rest) I would go to Holbox, from there to the Rio Lagartos area and then I would go down to Valladolid, which is near Chichén Itzá. If you can include Izamal I would also mark it on my trip. A little according to your tastes, there are several archaeological sites, cenotes and interesting small towns to see. You have a trip with those days and in the car.
We make personalized tours in case you want to value this option, you write me and we talk.
A big hug,
Hi how are you? I plan to take the ferry from the Punta Sam maritime terminal, which is cheaper. I read on the web that you have to introduce 40min before. We would not go with a car, is so much anticipation necessary?
On the other hand I consult you, back from Punta Sam to Playa del Carmen which would be the most economical option: take a taxi to the terminal ADO (or which collective passes through Punta Sam to the ADO terminal?) And from there take a van Beach (Do you know until you leave the van from the terminal?)?
Finally, and nothing to do with Isla Mujeres: I have scheduled a transfer from HOLBOX to Cancun. The transfer leaves us in the foreign terminal of Cancun. You would confirm me if the bus r-27 goes through there or near and goes to the zona hotelera (punctually Blvd. Kukulcan lot 50 in the grand oasis sens).
Thank you very much.
Greetings.
Hello Augustine,
You do not have to be 40 minutes before if you do not drive.
From the terminal of Punta Sam you can take a taxi, there wait, and relatively close pass buses until late afternoon, the schedules of the ferry cover them. If you take buses you must take them to the ADO terminal. A safe person is cheaper in a collective, if you share a taxi it can be another cheap option.
The bus route 27 passes relatively close to the foreign terminal, tell the driver to leave you at the Plaza del Ceviche, I imagine it will not be inconvenient and you have better take the bus to zona hotelera from there.
A hug, Agustina really enjoys it.
Thanks Sandra. We are two. How much will be the value of the taxi from Punta Sam to ADO Cancun? and about the departure times from vans to playa del carmen from the ADO do you have an idea if you have a deadline for leaving in the afternoon / evening?
Hello Augustine,
They should charge 90 pesos, but you know that the taxi driver is sometimes deceptive, and if they are stopped, as in the case of Punta Sam, something else will charge you.
The vans to Playa operate until dawn.
: )
The terminal where the transfer leaves us is the foreign terminal of Lopez Portillo Street S / N, El Pedregal, 77500 Cancun, QR, Mexico; that I see in Google that is permanently closed. That makes me doubt. According to the page http://cancun.rutadirecta.com/ the r-27 bus passes in front of the terminal. Do you confirm if this is ok?
Thank you.
Sds
The truth is that it seems very strange to me that a transfer from Holbox will leave you there, I looked at the map and I know the place. Surely its headquarters is in that direction, but they will leave you closer to the center. Anyway, I think there is no 27 route, but there are many combis that take you to the center, where you can take the bus to zona hotelera. In order to know the combi, ask the driver, many people pass over that street and I do not know how to say what is safe.
Curiosity has piqued me, and you'll explain if I left you at that point or another.
Hello Sandra. The transfer is from cancun shuttle, the contact takes it from https://el.holboxeno.com/como-llegar-a-holbox-horarios-autobuses-traslados-renta-auto-taxis-vuelos
Where do you decide to ask us to leave the van is in the ceviche roundabout in Av Coba 9, 22, Cancun, QR, Mexico ??
thank you!
This is Agustina, that is the address, if you say in the Plaza del Ceviche they understand you perfectly. The 1 and 2 routes pass there, which are the most frequent routes to go to zona hotelera, better than the 27, which takes a long time between bus and bus.
I'm really curious about that transfer from that point, you'll tell me.
But hey, they leave you where they leave you easy you solve sure.
Hug,
Hi good day! I have been checking the page and it seems that you can give great recommendations, last year we traveled to Cancun in February, and this year we intend to do it again on the same dates, but we are in doubt since last year we went to the tours of xcaret, xel ha and isla mujeres and now we want to visit more, cozumel, isla mujeres, etc I would like you to support me to tell me if to go to those places it is better to rent a tour or go on my own. how can I go, costs etc. we will stay at playa del carmen. regards
Hello Nancy,
Normally it is better to go on your own, but there are places that are difficult to go by public transport.
In the case of Isla Mujeres, without any problem you arrive on your own: from Playa del Carmen you go to Cancun, from there to the ferry where you can cross on your own or take one of the tours of the fishermen's cooperatives, cheaper than from an agency. As are the prices indicated you can do your calculations and choose the way to go.
In the case of Cozumel the island is bigger and from there you should move to the best places on the island by car or taxi (in this case I do not know prices for tours from the island). The ferry are 300 pesos round trip, or 410 pesos, there are two classes.
I leave a link where you find prices for excursions: https://www.civitatis.com/es/cancun#activitiesList?aid=1767
Another how to move around the Riviera Maya: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/
Any other tour you want to take tell me to clear up doubts.
Warm regards,
Very expensive $ 300 in round, in the maritime terminal of Puerto Juarez is in normal price 120, if you are from the peninsula, Campeche, Yucatan, Q.Roo is in 76 round. Overseas, if it costs $ 300 round, 120-160 if you're from Q.Roo.
Thank you very much Maritza for the data: that's right, from the Maritime Terminal of Puerto Juarez the ticket is cheaper, and from Punta Sam even more. The one in Puerto Juarez was opened just a month and a half ago, it was without service.
Best regards Maritza, and thanks for the contribution.
Hello Sandra,
I'm going with my family to the Riviera Maya the first half of July and we will be 2 or 3 days in Isla Mujeres. We want to do the whale shark tour. Can you indicate or give me the references of some cooperative of island percadores women that realize the tour of the whale shark?
Thank you and congratulate you for your blog.
It's amazing what is helping me to organize the trip.
Moltes gràcies des de Cambrils (Tarragona)
Hello Jacques, com anem? ?
Specifically I do not know how to tell you a fishermen's cooperative in Isla, the ones that come to look for you in the surroundings of the ferry. More or less operate the same and same prices. From Puerto Juarez last year they left for 1300 pesos per person, with food included.
If I find out about any recommended especially I let you know.
M'alegra molt power ajudar-vos with the blog, a fort abraçada cap to Cambrils. Salut,
Hello Sandra congratulations for your blog is very helpful, I am from Ecuador and travel at the end of August for CanCun I have already booked a hotel that is around the lagoon area is not my total pleasure but those who are on the beach are much more expensive my doubt is that by checking satellite maps you see that the big hotels are on the beach and obstruct the passage to it there is some problem if you pass by there to go to the beach, and on the other hand you can guide me with food prices because the hotel only includes breakfast thank you very much
Hello Gabriela,
Cancun has several public accesses to its beaches, so you will not mind to access them. In the section beaches you can find all of Cancun, but take a look at the map of the following entries. Those of your hotel will indicate you the nearest access, but you can comfortably move by bus zona hotelera.
https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/playa-las-perlas-la-chiquitita-de-zona-hotelera/
https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/playa-marlin-arena-blanca-y-azul-turquesa/
Zona hotelera It is not cheap, a meal can cost 300 pesos per person, the good thing is that there are options as street food vendors.
Enjoy the holidays a lot, kind regards.
Thanks again your accurate information is very helpful
Thanks for the comment Gabriela, it is always appreciated 🙂
Also in the zona hotelera There are convenience stores, OXXO, where you can buy something for a snack. Also, there is a Chedraui Selecto supermarket where you can eat well and cheaply. Very recommended.
Hello Sandra, I love your blog!
Advise me please, I'm going to stay at the hotel seadust Cancún (formerly great parnassus) I want to make the trip to isla mujeres on my own, come my husband and my son from 2 years.
How do I get to the port?
What is the cost of the transfers, bus and ferry?
Every when the ferries leave?
In meals by the 3 how much would it come out?
Can I pass a stroller?
Do they charge to enter the island?
Excuse me so much question but I do not want to leave anything in the air 🙁
Thank you very much, I hope not to be too close! Hahaha
Hello Alicia
From the Seadust you must take the 1 or 2 route bus (12 pesos per person) and stop at the Tortuga beach jetty, the bus driver indicates you. This jetty is in the zona hotelera, the price of the ferry is somewhat more expensive, but I think it suits you. You yourself look at the prices and schedules: https://www.ultramarferry.com/es/rutas-y-horarios
Calculate 200 pesos per meal, but there are options for all tastes. You can go with the stroller without problem and do not charge to enter the Ilsa Mujeres. When you arrive to the island and the same jetty of Isla Mujeres, you will be offered tours of the island. You see if you are interested or not. If you want to spend the day relaxing on the beach, go to the beach area North, it is the most beautiful on the island, and you can walk from the pier. You will see that everything is very easy and simple.
Have a great time, greetings.
Excellent Blog Thank you very much for all the tips you give.
Thanks Eduardo for your good contributions, they sure help the next one, that's what it's about.
Very good way 🙂
Hi Sandra, I really like your information
But I have a doubt I will stay at the hotel One Cancun Center and I want to go to Isla Mujeres
What transportation do I have to take to go to the ferry ???
And can you tell me what time does the ferry to isla mujeres
Thank you very much
Hello Rita,
From the One Cancun you must go to Tulum Avenue and take a bus to Crucero, it is indicated in the buses, otherwise you will read the sign for everyone you see and ask them if they arrive at Crucero. From Crucero, it is a point with a lot of traffic, ask the buses for the ferry, they leave often. The journey is about 20 minutes. A taxi from your hotel to Cruzero should cost you 40 pesos, if you want this option, if you take the hotel taxi or stop to charge more.
Enjoy Isla Mujeres Rita,
Excellent your blog I read all the questions and the answers are very clear thanks
I appreciate your comment Carlos, I welcome that the information is useful.
Happy stay,
Hi Sandra how are you?
I am organizing my trip to Riviera Maya for September. I stay first in Puerto Morelos and I am trying to see if it suits me to go first to Isla Mujeres or Tulum. I would stay a few days in each place and from where I stayed last and would return to the airport.
What do you think is more practical?
Thank you very much!
Hello Silvana,
From Puerto Morelos you would go to Tulum, and Isla Mujeres as your final destination, in this way you do less ups-downs and you save time in displacement.
Three excellent destinations, sure you enjoy a lot.
Warm regards,
Hello Sandra, you are very kind with your recommendations
In August I will travel for the first time and I will stay in the Tulum downtown area that you recommend me about the transfers to Tulum and from there to visit Isla Mujeres, I thank you for your response.
Hello Priscila,
I link you two articles that you can do well to plan your vacations. From Tulum to Isla Mujeres there are about 150 kilometers, the journey is easy by public transport. From Tulum in ADO direct to Cancun, and from the terminal take the R-1 bus that takes you to the ferry. The articles clear doubts. Best regards,
https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/
https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/transporte-desde-el-aeropuerto-de-cancun/
Hello Sandra, your advice is very useful.
In April I'm going to Quintana Roo for the second time and on that occasion I'll hire a tour from Playa del Carmen to Isla Mujeres. I fell in love with that Island, for that reason this time I'm going to stay 5 days there. As I did not have a good experience with the boat that takes you to the museum, I would like to do it again. Do you know if the islanders offer this excursion?
Thank you!
Hello Daiana,
Good to repeat, Isla Mujeres is a great place to be 🙂
I'm not sure if the islanders offer an excursion to the museum, it probably is. The issue is that everyone should pay the cost of the place, when it was inaugurated some islanders took you close, but not to the museum itself. Now I do not know how it is with that topic, I'm sorry I do not have the answer. I hope you give it to us on your return so we can continue helping the next ones.
Happy holidays, a Caribbean hug.
Hello Friend..
I travel with my family in August to Cancun, I arrive at the airport at 8: 30 at night ... hence I would like to go directly to Isla Mujeres, what bus do you recommend me to take ... and what port do you recommend?
Thank you in advance for your answer.
Hello Mary,
From the airport there is a bus to the center of Cancun (78 pesos per person). From the bus terminal you must take the 1 bus to Puerto Juarez, for 12 pesos per person. As you say you are going with family, it is very possible that it is convenient, easy and economical to take a taxi to the ferry terminal of Puerto Juarez, in the street a taxi charges you from the bus terminal 40 pesos, those that are stopped in front of the terminal something else.
I leave the airport information in case you want to see what it costs a transfer to everyone from the airport direct to the ferry, it may not be so much the difference. https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/transporte-desde-el-aeropuerto-de-cancun/
Have an excellent trip 🙂
Hi, thanks for the information, I visit Cancún on May 31 and I do not finish deciding whether to stay at Palm oasis or Cancún bay, both have good comments, what do you think? Or any recommendation? I go with in-laws and my daughter of 4 years
And on Isla Mujeres can I get there and rent some palapa to stay all day? Or something like that ? regards
Hello Axel,
As you say, the two hotels are fine, the Palm Oasis is bigger. I think those days start the jazz festival of the Oasis, the best jazz festival in Cancun, if you like jazz and you want to see the billboard. If not, whoever you choose will be right.
Yes there is the possibility in Isla Mujeres of renting lounge chairs and palapa on the beach.
That you have an excellent stay.
Warm regards,
Hello Sandra, I am about to travel to Cancun with my family at the end of November. Which is the fastest option to move to Isla Mujeres? the ferries make me nauseous and the faster the better!
besides the climate and the people in that era, how is it? Thank you!
Hi Sabrina,
Isla Mujeres can only be reached by sea, but by plane. The good news is that the ferry only lasts 20 minutes and the boat is very stable, hardly notes the rocking of the sea. Take the ferry from Ultramar, it is the largest and most stable in that sense. November is low season, so you'll be quiet on the island. Regarding the weather I link you an article: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/mejor-epoca-visitar-riviera-maya/
Have a nice vacation 🙂
Hello Sandra, which is the most economical option to travel from Cancun to Isla, I am planning to work in Isla, so I will have to travel daily if I do not find an adequate accommodation in Isla
Hello Mara,
In the Maritime terminal the Naveganto leave, they are in 76 pesos the round, you find the complete information in the article. That would be the cheapest thing today, it is essential to have a Quintana Roo credential for the discount. I do not know if there is more discount for working there or residing, you should find out at work perhaps.
Greetings and successes in your new destination 🙂
Hello Sandra, I'm in Cancun with a car and I want to take it to Isla Mujeres, there I will host 3 nights. Do you know how much the price of car transport costs? and where can I go or by what company? Or it might be more convenient to leave the car parked in the port of Cancun and ferry? As my husband, my son of 3 years and I. Thank you!
Hi Alejandra,
By car you must go to the Punta Sam Terminal, the only one that crosses cars, in the article you have the information that you ask in the section Terminals in Puerto Juárez to cross to Isla Mujeres. According to budget and plans, in addition to the location of the hotel on the Island, you would choose whether to cross by car or not. The island is small, I'm sure you'll be right with your car decision: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/isla-mujeres-isla-como-ir-llegar/
Enjoy the place and the family very much.
Warm regards,
Hello Sandra, at the beginning of September I'm going to stay at the paradisus the emerald in playa carmen as I can go to the beach north of isla mujeres? I do not want a tour but if a way to move me ... And until what time could I return from Isla Mujeres?
Hello Angel,
From Playa del Carmen you must take the ADO bus or the bus to the last stop in Cancun. I give you more information here in transportation: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/ From Cancun you can take a taxi to the ferry from Puerto Juarez for 50 pesos, or by bus 1 route (ask where they pass to Puerto Juarez, they are very close).
Ferry there are until 12 at night, and buses are there at night, although I recommend you not go so late if you do not know the area.
You have it simple from your hotel to go on your own.
That you enjoy it very much Best regards,
Hello Sandra!! I go with my mom, my niece of 6 years ago, the 27 of August and I will stay at the krystal hotel, where do you recommend taking the ferry or what can I take to go to visit Isla Mujeres? And what other do you recommend me to go? Costs
Hello Dena, to help you well: in what Kristal do you stay? Give me the full name, there are three in Cancun.
Thank you,
Hotel Krystal Cancun hotel & resort, there we will stay
You have very close the ferry of zona hotelera, you must take the R1 or R2 bus to the overseas ferry, the driver helps you with the stop. It is somewhat more expensive than the ferry from Puerto Juarez, but they are convenient because you have it very close (https://www.ultramarferry.com/es/rutas-y-horarios). If you want to visit Isla Mujeres by boat with the fishermen's cooperative (450 pesos per person more or less), you must take the R1 to the Ultramar terminal in Puerto Juarez, where the fishermen will offer you their excursions.
Any questions you write me.
Enjoy a lot,
Hello Sandra, at the end of September we will go to Cancun, the first days we will stay in Holbox and from there we will go to Isla Mujeres, we are 4 adults, that you recommend us according to the price and hours to get from chiquila to puerto juarez ?? Thank you
Hello Giselle,
I leave the entrance to Holbox where you find schedules and prices to go to Cancun: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/holbox-isla-visitar-excursiones/
By bus it is the cheapest, once in the Cancun terminal you must take the R1 bus to Puerto Juarez. What I recommend is that when you get to Chiquilá ask for private transport prices too, maybe being 4 adults suits you and you go straight to the ferry from Puerto Juarez. I think a private taxi is on 100 usd the journey.
Happy holidays, enjoy a lot 🙂
Hi, good afternoon will you have the costs and how to get there from Playa del Carmen?
Hi Monica, I pass the costs and how to move from Playa del Carmen to Cancun: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/ Once you get to the Cancun terminal there are three ways to get to the ferry: take a taxi (for 40 pesos if you are not at a stop), the R-1 bus for 12 pesos per person or two urban buses (the first to Crucero and the other from there to the ferry, costs 8 pesos per person). All these transportation options are very close to the Cancun terminal, ask when you get the one that best suits you.
Greetings and good trip,
hello!
I wanted to ask is there somewhere official, where I say that from Punta Sam to Isla M., people are no longer transported? Since when did this new regulation come out?
It is that I, by November of last year, went to Isla M., with the ferry from Punta Sam: ((
Thank you
Hello Simone, it was this year that they changed, they let only the driver go up, if they did not change again. Anyway I pass the web of them to ensure that it is like this: http://www.maritimaislamujeres.com/
Warm regards,
Hello!! With my boyfriend we are going to stay in Isla Mujeres and we wanted to know what is the daily cost that is estimated for general expenses without including the lodging, since it is the first time we will visit Mexico !!! Thank you
Hello Macarena, Isla Mujeres is a tourist area and the prices are higher than normal: a bottle of 1 liter water in the super on 15 pesos, a meal without drinks 240 pesos, on the street in a street vendor 100 weights, a beer in a restaurant about 60 pesos. You can always go to businesses where the stores go, to save money. I hope you will be referred to these prices.
Enjoy the holidays a lot, it's beautiful Isla Mujeres 🙂
Hello Sandra, I admire you for that selfless service you provide by this means, hug. You know, I have plans to vacation with my wives in Isla Mujeres in four weeks, but I'm not sure what is the best all-inclusive or overseas catamaran, I mean services and fun. Is there a lot of difference?
Hello Juan Carlos, thanks for your comment.
I'll explain a little: the catamaran All inclusive is usually something moved with music and drinks all day, also you stop at a beach where you eat buffet and have time to snorkel. It is a casual tour, you can hire it at a good price here: https://www.civitatis.com/es/riviera-maya/excursion-isla-mujeres-catamaran/?aid=1767
El Overseas ferry It simply crosses you to the island, and there you visit the island as you wish. I leave you an article with proposals on the island: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/isla-mujeres-isla-como-ir-llegar/
And finally you have the option of doing the excursion on fishing boats They leave near the Ultramar ferry from Puerto Juarez. These cost you about the 500 pesos per person, you go 10 in the boat, and they offer snorkel, buffet lunch and time in town to buy.
The three options are valid, depending on what you are looking for. If you have doubts here, you find me.
Best regards, have a great time in that paradise.
Hi Sandra, I love everything I'm reading. I tell you my concern, out there you can help me. In November I travel with my family to Cancun, and we are going to stay at the Hotel Bsea Cancun Plaza Hotel, and we want to go to Isla Mujeres to spend the day.
How do we go? on the map I figure very far from the terminals. Some bus or taxi? Thank you very much for your attention and good service.
Hello Ariana, from your hotel you have to take the R-1 or R-2 bus that takes you to the ferry terminal stop in zona hotelera, you can say that I leave you at Tortuga beach. The driver of the bus helps you if you do not know the stop, the journey is easy. Back you do the same but in reverse.
Enjoy the holidays, greetings.
Hello Sandra,
super good your blog. You could help me with the following, in January we will go on our own to Isla Mujeres, we will be 2 days and I would like to know prices and where to contract a tour to go snorkeling in the area of the farito.
Thank you very much
Hello Yerko, in Isla Mujeres you will find several snorkeling and diving tour agencies such as Carey Dive Center, Isla Mujeres Trips and several more in the town (you can find them on the internet). A tour leaves you in about 30 usd more or less. You also find fishermen's cooperatives that take cheaper tours, they find you by the ferry environment. You can also go on your own to Playa Garrafón, next to the Garrafón Park, to snorkel, here I exologize: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/isla-mujeres-isla-como-ir-llegar/
I hope you serve the information, that you spend an excellent vacation 🙂
I stay at the Iberostar hotel near the dolphins beach, it is better for me to take the ferry tortoises or overseas or Puerto Juarez, I can use a taxi, if you have an idea of the cost of the taxi, better yet ...
Hello Jorge, so you can get an idea of taxi prices from downtown Cancun to Playa Delfines on the 290 pesos, and from Cancun to Puerto Juarez on the 70 pesos. In each unit 4 people enter, the money is per unit. The closest to you would be the Caracol beach ferry from the zona hotelera: https://www.ultramarferry.com/es/rutas-y-horarios#Playa-del-Carmen-Cozumel
Happy Holidays,
Hello, we are going to playa del carmen in March, would you indicate how I go to Isla Mujeres from there? Thank you
Hello Carolina, simple route: from Playa del Carmen you take the ADO or the bus to the last stop in Cancun (both means of transport are very close to your stops). From here you should take the R-1 in Tulum Avenue to Puerto Juarez (for 12 pesos person) or a taxi that can cost you 70 pesos in stop to the terminal. I leave a link on how to move between Playa and Cancun with more details: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/
Have an excellent vacation 🙂
Good afternoon, I'm going to a wedding in May with my family we are 8 adults and 5 children, we have the 6 of May free to know from very early even though it is something of the wonderful thing that cancun has, what would you recommend us?
Thank you.
Hello Adriana, uf, there are many possibilities, we can see some: it could be Isla Mujeres, you can also spend the day in Cancun visiting different things or you can go a little further to visit an archaeological zone like Tulum or Chichén and combine it with some cenote or nice beach. Or some park where you can enjoy as a family. For the Cancun option I link you this article that can help you: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/lugares-turisticos-cancun/ If you want to go out in a van all together, you can write me to the post office sandra@elcaminomascorto.es and we can organize you with a driver and van to go somewhere and do the activities that you like. This option can work well too. Hopefully it will help you choose what to do.
Anything I look forward to, kind regards.
I wanted to know when the crossing between turtles beach terminal lasts
to island women
Thank you
A few 30 minutes Natalia. Have a good time around here 🙂
Hello Sandra, I saw a ferry that includes food and drink when you arrive on the island? Do you know how much they cost?
Thank you very much for the blog info
Well, the truth is that I do not know that information that Alejandra tells me. In fact, the ferries sell snacks and botanicals, as well as drinks. In the excursions of the fishermen's cooperatives, which go by boat, they do include food, as in the agency tours they include it.
I hope it will be useful for your holidays, enjoy it a lot 🙂
hello Sandra I go first to Playa del Carmen with car that I rent and I have to return it in Isla Schopping and from there I go to Isla Mujeres to the Aluxes Adult hotel where it is convenient to take the ferry to cross to Isla Mujeres, I go with suitcases and where you advise me to take a taxi .. thank you very much
Hello Jorge, I understand that you return the car in the Isla shopping of Cancún, correct? If so, I would take a taxi from the Island (many pass and stop, for a maximum of 100 pesos they must take you) or a bus (you have to stop across the street, it costs 13 pesos per person) to one of the jetties of the zona hotelera, the route is shorter (look at the schedules, they are on the website of Overseas). All the ferries leave you in the same area in Isla Mujeres, the Aluxes Adult hotel is only about 500 meters away (there are taxis waiting).
Warm regards,
hello Sandra .. my doubt is that I get more economical .. if I take a taxi from island schoping to puerto juarez how much can I get? and an island taxi schoping to the turtle ferry how much ... thank you very much for always answering
Hello Jorge, I do not know how to say what exact charges from the Island to those destinations a taxi. From the ferry overseas to Puerto Juarez there is a difference of about 50 people round trip per person. You can ask the taxi driver and do your numbers, that's what I can think of. Any doubt I try to support you Jorge, here you are.
Warm regards,
Hello Sandra. Thanks for so much info. We will be in April with my husband in Cancun, stopping near the zona hotelera and the idea is to go to spend two nights s female islands. Is the ferry nearby? The cost? Can I take the bags for free? Greetings from Argentina
Hello Flor, the ferry is close by: there are three piers of the Ulytamar company in zona hotelera u from Puerto Juarez, a neighborhood near Cancún, there are other jetties. The information on how to go is in the article. You can cross the suitcases without cost on the ferry. Regarding the prices are indicated in the writing, it varies a little depending on the ferry you take. Around the 140 pesos per way.
Good holiday, greetings to Argentina.
How are you??
What can I take to go to the Xel-Ha park from Playa del Carmen downtown?
Thank you
Hello German, you must take the bus that leaves from Playa (2 street between 15 and 20) and you tell the driver that you want to get off at Xel-Ha. You should walk a bit from the road to the park entrance. I leave you information on how to move: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/
Enjoy your vacations,
Hello Sandra, who will give you all the info you provide, thank you very much for that. A big favor could you give me how to go from Playa del Carmen to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres? Which one is closest to me? I guess the one in Puerto Juarez?
Hello Angela, I explain how to do: you take the ADO (bus) or bus from Playa del Carmen and get off at the last stop in Cancun. From Tulum Avenue take the R-1 urban bus that takes you to the ferry from Puerto Juarez (tell the driver that you are going to the ferry because some do not arrive), or a taxi that will charge 80 pesos to the ferry. I leave the information on transport between Playa del Carmen and Cancun: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/como-ir-de-cancun-a-playa-del-carmen-y-tulum/
Have an excellent stay 🙂
You can take the Embarcadero ferry at km 4 from Blvd. Kukulcan and you will know the zona Hotelera it's almost the same distance to Puerto Juarez, it's a price difference like 60 pesos per person
Hello Sandra, it's a blessing to find your blog, my question is this, do you know how much the airport truck charges me to the place where you take the ferry to cross to Isla Mujeres ??, I go alone, which suits me better, taxi or bus.
Thank you very much for your support
Hello Josefina, from the airport to the terminal of Cancun are about 78 truck weights. From the Cancun terminal you can take another R-1 urban truck for 12 pesos to the ferry (go through Tulum Avenue, ask the driver if you arrive to the ferry), or taxi for 80. I leave the airport information in case you need it: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/transporte-desde-el-aeropuerto-de-cancun/
Have an excellent trip.
Hello good day, excellent information, I would like to know if it is better to go to chichen itza on our own renting a mini van since we are 10 people and we stayed at cid marina de puerto morelos
Hello Eunice, for sure you get better price to go for your account if you are 10. You can go by the short way to Leona Vicario, and so you do not pay toll and you can go to see the cenote Chooj Ja ', to 12 kilometers of X-Can: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/cenote-chooj-ja-una-maravilla-de-caverna/
I leave the detailed information for Chichen. https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/chichen-itza-en-coche-de-alquiler/
Any doubt you tell me. Have an excellent trip.
Hi, this is your website, I am going to Cancun from Guadalajara in June, I have a reservation for a house in Tulum but I see that the beaches of Tulum are infested with Sargasso and in Cancun not so much, but the attractiveness that does not have Cancun are the cenotes that according to me are closer to tulum but then I do not know if I better rent a depa in cancun to be near Isla Mujeres and beaches free of sargasso what do you think of this phenomenon?
Hello Joe, as you say the sargasso theme changes your plans. A good place to look at the sargasso theme is this FB page: https://www.facebook.com/RedSargazo/ Your plan depa in Cancun and take advantage of the proximity of Isla Mujeres I think is very successful, also the beaches of Cancun: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/playas-cancun/.
Tulum is an hour and a half from Cancun, you can go a whole day to cenote around the area. I leave you two entrances with cenotes near Cancún, and those of Tulum. There are options, sure you ride it great and enjoy the beach and the cenotes.

Have an excellent vacation, greetings to Guadalajara.

excellent your blog, and all your recommendations very good I did not know those cenotes so wonderful, I want to go, thank you very much for all your recommendations
I travel in June
and I'm looking for a hotel,
I'm a little confused with the sargasso
I was looking for a hotel near the beach, in Playa del Carmen
but now with this phenomenon, it will no longer be possible ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
where do you recommend looking for the hotel
in cancun, in isla mujeres or where ??????
I want to go to xcaret and visit the cenotes
something that I stayed near these parks
or it does not matter if it's far away ??????
I would greatly appreciate your answer since I am somewhat confused with this phenomenon
and what parks or other places do you recommend to visit
since the beaches are not going to be able
Thank you for your time and for answering all our doubts
Hello Sandra, thanks for your words, a pleasure to help you. Sargassum is something unpredictable, but there are places for the subject of currents that is not invasive. My recommendation is that you look for accommodation in Isla Mujeres or Cozumel to ensure beaches without sargasso. The page on Facebook gives good information of the points with sargasso https://www.facebook.com/RedSargazo/ If you stay in these islands, you can go to the cenotes and Xcaret park without any problem, the only thing is that you spend more time on the trip and it is not so practical to move. Isla Mujeres is at 20 minutes by ferry from Cancun, and Cozumel by 40 minutes by ferry from Playa del Carmen. Playa del Carmen is more in a mid point within reach of everything, but they offer excursions from all points of the Caribbean coast.
I leave information that can support you to choose excursions on your vacation: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/mejores-excursiones-top-desde-riviera-maya/
If you have any questions, write me, enjoy the area, which is very beautiful 🙂
Hi, I love the blog, super complete. I am planning to make a trip to Rivera Maya for free with my 9 year old daughter and my husband. Lately I have heard several things that make me consider the trip. One of them the sargassum and another the security. On the sargassum I have modified the route. I plan on arriving in Cancun to go to Holbox, after 3 days go to Chichen Itza and from there to Isla Mujeres, Isla with you and one day visit Xel Ha or Xcaret. Do you think it is a good route to do by car? It is safe to go with a girl. He had also planned to stop in Mexico City and visit Querétaro and San Miguel de Allende. Are the latter safe places to visit for free? Or are areas better not to include in the route? Thank you very much I have a little mess.
Hi Alejandra, you can visit and enjoy Riviera Maya without sargassum, you will not have a problem with a good route. I do not know at what time you think to come, there is no sargassum all year. The route you propose is safe to go with your daughter, travel calmly in that aspect, in addition you will not have sargassum that bothers you with what you raise. Knowing the area would improve it to optimize the weather, not turn around and see the best on the road. That is part of our work, in case you want to contact directly I leave you how we help visitors to optimize their route and time: https://www.elcaminomascorto.es/rutas-mayas-agencia/
I don't know how many days you are going to spend on the trip, entering Mexico City and visiting Querétaro and San Miguel de Allende is safe, but you must go by plane and plan a somewhat heavier route. Mexico is huge and the distances are very long. I would honestly dedicate the trip to an area, I think you can really like Riviera Maya and enjoy with your family in a quiet way.
I look forward to any questions, best regards.
Hello Sandra, good afternoon I speak to you from Rosario Argentina, I found your blog today and this GREAT, of course impossible, I am organizing a trip for the first time there and I do not want to miss any detail. I have a question to ask you, can ferries buy tickets on the page in time or do they only sell it to you at the time of arrival? I'm going for 10 days and I stop in Cancun and I want to meet Cancun Isla Mujeres and Hol Box and I want to go very prepared. I would love to get in touch with you.
Hi Santiago, I'm glad the information is useful, thanks for the comment.
You do not need to buy it in advance as they leave practically every half hour and there is enough cargo capacity for travelers who cross. In the overseas website I see that you can reserve them, but I never really did it or know anyone who did it to be able to comment. Any questions you can contact me equal to sandra@elcaminomascorto.es
Have a happy trip, 10 days will give you a lot 🙂
Hi, I'm going to Playa del Carmen on December 20 and my question is if a ferry leaves from there to Isla Mujeres or should I go to Can-cun?
Hello Sunday, you must go to Cancun. Only the ferry to Isla Cozumel leaves from Playa.
Greetings and good trip.
Hello, how is an excellent blog? Could you help me with some questions and costs in 2021 we will travel in October of this year I will rent a truck I will leave it in the parking lots of Puerto Juarez could you give me the current costs of the ferry to Isla Mujeres and I also need to know if it is That you can take a cooler with beers, soft drinks and waters and some place that you recommend cheap in North Beach to be able to have some drinks and that has palapas and lounge chairs, thank you very much
Hello Alberto, for the updated costs the websites of the ferries are linked to be able to check them, I leave you the one of the Ultramar company: https://www.ultramarferry.com/es/rutas-y-horarios Currently there are several parking lots in Puerto Juárez near the ferry, you will see them arriving. That you know all the palapas and lounge chairs in Playa Norte belong to private places that do not allow you to bring your cooler, but there are shadows under palm trees where you can settle in if you go early.
Enjoy the holidays a lot, anything you can tell me?
