In the town of Cobá, when you visit the archeological zone, three nearby cenotes are recommended: Tamcach Ha, Multun Ha and Choo-Ha. Let's look at Choo Ha, each one has its own charm.
The town of Cobá is just 45 kilometers from the coastal town of Tulum, one of the most coveted destinations in the Riviera Maya: the beautiful beaches of Tulum are irresistible, it also has many interesting visits in its surroundings. Without forgetting the party atmosphere that Tulum lives. As opposed, its neighbor Cobá, is a quiet alternative of cultural and nature tourism that travelers like more and more.
Today the town of Cobá offers enough services for the traveler to sleep and get to know the interesting area around Cobá. I cannot deny that it is one of my favorite places on the Peninsula, where the attractiveness of the archaeological zone of Coba has allowed local businesses to flourish.
Cenotes de Cobá
Part of the charm of Cobá are the beautiful cenotes that dot the area. The best known are the Tamcach-Ha cenote, the Multun-Ha and the Choo-Ha. In the parking lot of the archaeological zone they usually offer you tickets to visit them: the entrance is 100 pesos each cenote. I assure you that it costs to choose between the three, so if you have time, why not go to all three?
In Cobá they rent bicycles, and it is very good option to pedal and cool off. If you dare, a little further you have the fantastic San Juan de Dios cenotes, depending on your fitness you can enjoy pedaling, fantastic.

Choo Há Cenote from Coba
The Choo Ha cenote is a wide cavern where the crystalline jade waters surround an earthy island from which to enjoy the different formations of stalactites, stalagmites and columns. You are inside a temporary capsule where the continuous passage from drop to drop was creating this beautiful cavity of the Mayan underworld. How beautiful are the cenotes.
I like to mention the good administration of the Choo-Ha cenote, where they always mention the importance of going through the showers (showers) if you are going to bathe in the cenote. This is essential for the good health of the cenotes, since the amount of body creams and other potingues damage the delicate water. You know, take a shower before entering a cenote, it costs nothing. Cobá cenotes, which are run by locals, take care of their treasures, and that is an added value.
On the same road to the Choo Ha cenote, just 200 meters away is the Tamcach-Ha cenote, where you can dive from 10 meters, and the Multun-Ha, which has a beautiful vault, is barely a couple of kilometers away. Inside the Choo-Há cenote It is accessed by simple wooden stairs. The cavity is wide and the access to water is very simple, so it makes it an ideal family cenote to go with children.
Despite being an area very close to Tulum, the secret here is that not many tourists arrive, and you can visit only these places at times. I hope you cheer up to do a little escapade in this area, it sure catches you.

ADO It has a bus that arrives from Playa del Carmen and Tulum. You can get to the cenotes by taxi. If you go cycling it is a walk of about 6 kilometers.

THE LAW OF THE GOOD CENOTERO: To avoid contaminating the delicate water of the cenotes, do not use body creams, or protectors, or repellents before entering them. Do not hang from the roots of the trees or touch the stalactites or do any other idiocy that damages the place.
